Land is arguably one of the most important parts of the Medieval Empires' economy. This section details the types of Land and Land NFTs in the game.

Land is an integral part of Medieval Empires' economy and gameplay and is being sold by the game through NFT marketplaces, using the Polygon network and Immutable zk-EVM.

The game will contain different tiers of land, from Tier 0 to Tier 5 (read more about Land Tiers and their benefits here). New players signing up will begin their journey on a Virtual Starting County.

The Virtual Starting County would be ****a backup land where players are automatically placed if they don’t have any contract. This would be at the start of the game, or if a player has been removed from a land by the landlord, on which they were allowed to be settled on. On this land, players would play alone, would be taxed 50% and won’t be able to go any further than level 5.

Tier 0: These are ME-owned counties that do not provide any benefits and have no minimum requirements. Tax-Rate is 25% for the players on this tier of ME-owned land. this land would have other players as well, eventually players can move on to purchased land or to the land of another landlord who has offered a space on their county.

Purchased land would be mainly owned by people who have bought Land NFTs. Landowners set the taxes and fees they request from players settling on their land, with a maximum tax of 25% in the form of $MEE token, Silver and resources (wheat, wood and ore). This land is still PvE only.

The player can always choose to settle on other player-owned counties if they have sufficient resources for it and want to enjoy the benefits of higher Tier lands.

Provisional Land & Historic Battles Events such as Historic Battles would take place on Provisional Land, where players can join with their armies and have a temporary outpost. Unlike Permanent Land, where counties are sold and players build their towns in regular gameplay, Provisional Land will be closed off after the event. An example would be The Holy Land, which would never be permanently owned by any faction.

Future Expansion of the World Map In the future, we might introduce special events which would open up new Permanent Land if it has been conquered by a faction. The best performing players in these special events would get a preference on purchase of land in these newly opened Provinces.
